These are a couple of weeks old, but hey, here they are anyway - pictures from my trip up to Goat Island marine reserve with Daniel and Arifah for a bit of snorkelling. Most of the photos were taken using an underwater disposeable camera, for test purposes. I wanted to see how the photos came out before I used one of them for diving photos.
The images from the underwater camera are all funny sizes due to the expertise of the developing shop and their excellent ability to transfer photos to CD. The first batch they did, I was presented with a CDROM containing images that were 200*130 pixels in size, 80k each in PSD format. When I asked why he'd made them so tiny he claimed it was "to leave more room on the CD!". Ironically, when I made him re-do them at a decent resolution, he then used a brand new CD despite me supplying him with the old one which was still 99% unused. This time the images were 600*400 approximately, 100k JPGs in lousy quality. I gave up.
The beach, with Goat Island in the distance, and the waves in the foreground showing why this is not a popular surf beach.

Daniel, not looking like a mermaid

The stupid flailing of arms and legs has a purpose in this case - my wetsuit was so boyant it was a struggle to stay underwater for the shot!

More fish ^_^
