I dnt lk 2 tlk txt

There's an ad in this months Rip it Up entitled "Txt Tlk", and it shows a brother and sister talking via "txt". Despite what the media reckon, I don't think that normal humans use this 'language' when speaking to each other. The ad is filled with abbreviations which simply don't make sense, and would take more time to write than if you were just using predictive text. Do the people who make these moronic ads actually realise that T9 has been about for 5 or so years, and is actually being used? It's 100 times quicker to write the full version of the word and let predictive hook you up than to take ages scrolling through lists of characters in order to make yourself sound retarded.

Bill Hick's advice to people in advertising in marketing has never been so relevant as it is today - kill yourself. No really, kill yourself. Just planting seeds..

Anyhow, the reason I was thinking about that crap was because I took a few photos on my phone recently (Nokia 6230 - which I keep meaning to do a review of) and was going to send a couple of them to a couple of people. For some reason it just seemed appropriate to add something like 'tk ths pht0 an thght f u' before sending. Somehow I managed to resist.

The photos aren't anything too interesting. First off, here's the new Sunfire server which will be running Domino at work. It's a rather nice piece of kit, at 1u (and yes eventually it will be rack mounted) it contains 2 x 3.06ghz HT processors, 2gb of RAM, 2 SCSI disks, and 2 onboard NICs. A very nice piece of kit indeed, and all the new range of Sun servers are certified to work with Windows 2003 server, so it's time to kiss the old Linux pos goodbye.

Next up we have a photo of my old car! I sold it about 4-5 years ago before I left for London, and I sometimes see it being driven around the neighbourhood, so when I saw it parked outside my work I took a few snaps for old times sakes. Yes it's kind of stupid and sentimental, but hey.
