After reading a lot of talk about
Greasemonkey I finally got time to give it a test run. Basically, Greasemonkey is an extension for Firefox (although apparently there is also something called GreasemonkIE which will run some/all of the same scripts) which allows you to do client side parsing/DHTML operations on web pages once they've been rendered on your browser.
or
You can fuck about with how your browser displays other peoples webpages so that little things don't piss you off as much.
I think that's a better way to describe it in the "whats in it for me" approach of todays world. Greasemonkey looks very cool indeed. For the Lotus people reading this, then I think the best example you can view is the LDD Script, which makes LDD a lot more usable, and also gives a very impressive display of what this tool can do. For other people, there are plenty of Greasemonkey scripts available for download elsewhere, which will give you an idea of what it's all about.
Here's a quick screenie of what the LDD looks like post install - but really, it's worth the 5 mins it'll take to install the extension plus the script to see it for yourself.
