Manage your Xbox Live friends list from the web

For quite some time, I wanted to be able to do this. As of a week ago, I don't care anymore.. so of course, now they've sorted it out :) Thanks Murphy, your law rocks.

DO NOT DISTURB! Yeah, they're iPod shuffle skins. But they're functional in this case.

We're all going to die

A bear, a lion and a chicken meet. The Bear says: "If I roar in the forest, the entire forest is shivering with fear." The Lion says: "If I roar in the desert, the entire desert is afraid of me." Then the Chicken says: "Big deal. I only have to cough, and the entireplanet shits itself."

Gamers are getting owned!

It seems to be the week for pasting amusing links without any other content. On that note: Gamers are getting owned

The Application Analyzer, again

Paul writes that "exactly what I expected about the Microsoft Application Analyser has come true". It's a bit of a worry. The results of that reporting tool always looked like they'd be incredibly misleading. However, Paul's way forward is good - pick an application which is supposed to be incredibly simple, and get them to migrate it as a PoC for free. If it's that simple it won't take long, right?

MSN Messenger Beta, take 2

The last version of this beta lasted about 25 mins with me before I went back to Trillian. It ate up too much screen real estate. They've updated it recently, and it seems a lot better in terms of how much of my monitor it eats up and so I'm still running it at home, while at work I just can't deal with it. Things which still bug me: Shift + Return does a new line inside the current message. Alt + Return and Ctrl + Return do also. Whats the big deal? Well, if I'm typing quickly, and am...

Google Mars

To be filed in the 'kinda cool' pile, comes Google Mars. The pinpoints showing the landing/resting spots for various spacecraft is a nice touch. Tags: Google

.NET for Domino Developers

A while back I did a couple of posts about ASP.NET Development which were targetted at Domino Developers looking to make the switch. I intended to do more, but never really did. This was mostly because I actually started working on a commercial ASP.NET Development project, so I was spending all my time actually converting from Domino to ASP.NET and had no time to write about it. A while ago I came across Jeff Crossett's site. He has a series of articles called .NET for Domino Developers. Worth checking out if my slackness in writing has created a void in your...

A Meditation On the Speed Limit

A Meditation On the Speed Limit is the result of a competition held at Georgia State University. They were tasked to make a movie using iMovie within a week, on a given theme - which was '5'. Their result is a short clip showing the chaos which ensues when they follow the speed limit on the Freeway (thats a Motorway if you live in NZ!), which is 55mph.

Lotusphere NZ

Lotusphere Comes To You 2006 - a very watered down regional offering. We're all winners! Thanks IBM. I think I'm done with boxing analogies. (Make sure to wear a dark shirt which won't show up any greasy marks after all the back patting)

Searchdomino's expert advice

Searchdomino.com went downhill a long time ago. One of my accounts is still subscribed to the newsletter however, and occasionally I actually read them (woah). The one I read today made me wonder why I bother. The article is here if you can be bothered, but you can read on anyway regardless. The question: I am experiencing an issue with Notes 5.0.10 on a Windows 2000 server. We have not upgraded but it was said that a file could be of unlimited size. But now that our file has gotten to 64GB, we can no longer add anything to it. Was this a...

NZ Xbox 360 launch event

One of the things I forgot to mention was that last week I attended the Media Preview of the NZ XBox 360 launch tour. I spoke about it on the radio show on Saturday, and wrote about it on the Geekside website, but neglected to write anything here. Basically, the 360 looks very cool. Fight Night: Round 3 looks to have a lot of very cool online potential, and a lot of the other games look very stunning indeed. It's obviously going to take a while to build up a decent selection of titles, but that'll come in time - the...

I present you with a non optional option

I've just had it pointed out to me that I haven't updated recently. Yes, everything is "fine", just been a bit hectic at work. Regular transmission (read: SPAM) will soon resume.
