I read over the posts on this topic over the past couple of days, without a lot of interest. Mary Beth comments that she was a little surprised to get 75 responses on the topic, when the discussions around the Workspace didn't get nearly that many. So today, I read her post "
The Decision on the Lock Screen Feature". I didn't expect to have an opinion either way, but interestingly enough I hate their decision.
At work, I've recently setup my main machine to have as little "personal" stuff on it as possible (I use my laptop for that). This is because the team I'm working in right now often use each others machines for troubleshooting, second opinions, etc etc. However occasionally I need to use Notes on that machine, so I'll have it running, and simply have it locked if I need to hand over control (wouldn't be a big deal, except for my domain wide admin access, and admin access to several client's environments too, some via a cross certified id which wouldnt require a password to be re-entered). I'll no longer be able to do this with their proposed changes, and so my Notes setup will either become less secure or less flexible. Or both. Great call.
