What would you buy with NZD$480?

What would you buy with $480? (the price difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3). Of course the astute readers out there will calculate the value of NZD$480 in other currencies and realise it's not worth a hell of a lot, but still, if you ignore that little detail it's not a bad marketing campaign.

My little iTunes gripe

Quite often when I say bad things about iTunes, people will send me email and tell me I'm wrong. So here's the one, main, annoying thing which is preventing me from running iTunes (on Windows) for more than 10 mins before I get annoyed with it: I want to be able to have it running with the library showing OR in the mini player and NOT show up on my Taskbar (Tasktray is fine, and desirable). Interestingly enough it's my main gripe with the current MSN Messenger clients too - there are some things which run all the time which...

It's official - a stiff drink beats counselling

Maybe old-fashioned Kiwi blokes had it right after all.

My favourite Notes site is actually being updated

There has been a lot of debate over the years about how Domino based websites often look rather ugly. Well, the Notes Ninjas have set to lower the standard to a low point which some might have previously thought was unreachable! The site has been around for a while, and I thought it was just going to shrivel up and go away. Well, it's still around, and it's being updated! Check it out - it's yellow, and it... well you'll see! Technorati tags: Notes, Domino

Interesting reading for people looking to buy 4gb of RAM

I should actually qualify this more, but the full sentence would make for a rather long post title - the article is interesting reading for people looking to buy 4gb of memory and intend to run a 32bit Operating system. Link: codinghorror.com: Dude, Where's My 4 Gigabytes of RAM?

M and Co: Five O'Clock

The M and Co: Five O'Clock is designed to make life easier for all the clockwatchers in your office. Allow them to focus on the one number they're actually interested in. Of course, the real deluxe version would allow you to configure the time that you cared about depending on your work schedule.. I'm there there are plenty of employees out there on flexi time who'd like to be able to sit and stare at a slightly different set of numbers. Still, for the majority, this will be pretty cool.

'Geek' HTML tattoo

This is being referred to as a 'geek tattoo', but is it really? Surely if he was a proper geek then he'd have found a way to make the HTML standards compliant. Right? Maybe there are some additional tags elsewhere on his body which can't be included in that shot, but I doubt it.. meh.. Link: HTML Geek tattoo

Some Agile History

Dave Thomas, on some Agile history, contains a quote which will ring true for many people: I see some teams that use the word “agile” when they really mean “chaotic” I hear ya Dave..
