What would you buy with $480? (the price difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3). Of course the astute readers out there will calculate the value of NZD$480 in other currencies and realise it's not worth a hell of a lot, but still, if you ignore that little detail it's not a bad marketing campaign.
Do your workmates really hate you? If so, then you might want to invest in some of these.
This one is worth a read for any developers out there, especially ones who are enjoying looking back on their careers and thinking about what they've actually learned:

Quite often when I say bad things about iTunes, people will send me email and tell me I'm wrong. So here's the one, main, annoying thing which is preventing me from running iTunes (on Windows) for more than 10 mins before I get annoyed with it: I want to be able to have it running with the library showing OR in the mini player and NOT show up on my Taskbar (Tasktray is fine, and desirable).
Interestingly enough it's my main gripe with the current MSN Messenger clients too - there are some things which run all the time which...

Say it with me - DRM only hurts the customer.

The M and Co: Five O'Clock is designed to make life easier for all the clockwatchers in your office. Allow them to focus on the one number they're actually interested in.
Of course, the real deluxe version would allow you to configure the time that you cared about depending on your work schedule.. I'm there there are plenty of employees out there on flexi time who'd like to be able to sit and stare at a slightly different set of numbers. Still, for the majority, this will be pretty cool.

This is being referred to as a 'geek tattoo', but is it really? Surely if he was a proper geek then he'd have found a way to make the HTML standards compliant. Right? Maybe there are some additional tags elsewhere on his body which can't be included in that shot, but I doubt it.. meh..
